Inside the guide
The Amalfi Coast is famous for its vertical villages and cobalt sea, but its most luxurious moments happen after the day-trippers leave.
At dawn, the fishing boats return to harbors still asleep. By mid-morning, the sun turns the cliffs honey-gold and the lemons begin to scent the air. In the late afternoon, the best terraces open their aperitivo menus and the sea takes on a silver cast.
Our favorite way to experience the coast is slowly: one town per day, a private boat for the coves that buses cannot reach, and dinner where the menu is written in Italian only.
